Interim Unit Manager – IT Infrastructure, Platform and Network

I-Ray IT Solutions AB is looking for experienced Interim Unit Managers for assignments within IT Infrastructure, Platform Technology and Network Infrastructure.

We are looking for up to 3 consultants, where each consultant will be responsible for leading and developing a technical IT unit.

Assignment details

• Start date: 14 September 2026
• End date: 14 March 2027
• Possible extension: Until 14 September 2027
• Employment/assignment scope: Full-time, 100%
• Location: Linköping with remote work by agreement
• On-site requirement: At least 3 days per week in Linköping

Main responsibilities

The Interim Unit Manager will be responsible for the daily operation, development and delivery of the assigned IT unit.

The role includes:

• Managing and developing a team of approximately 15–20 employees.
• Personnel and work environment responsibility.
• Planning resources, skills and staffing needs.
• Monitoring budgets and financial responsibilities.
• Ensuring stable, secure and reliable IT operations and service delivery.
• Planning and prioritizing development of IT services and technical platforms.
• Leading improvement and change initiatives.
• Supporting business development and organizational development.
• Managing cooperation with internal teams, external partners and suppliers.
• Participating in management meetings and contributing to strategic initiatives.
• Ensuring that information security, continuity and operational requirements are followed.
• Balancing stable day-to-day operations with continuous improvement and development.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who have:

• At least 5 years of experience in management roles with personnel, operational and budget responsibility.
• Experience managing technical specialist teams within IT infrastructure, platforms, networks or similar complex IT environments.
• Experience with IT service delivery or technical delivery management.
• Experience in change management and business development.
• Experience working in complex organizations with several stakeholders.
• Experience working with environments where high availability, security, robustness and continuity are important.
• Very good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
• Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a structured, proactive and results-oriented manner.
• Competency corresponding to level 4.

Additional qualifications

The following experience is considered an advantage:

• Management experience from the public sector or politically governed organizations.
• Experience from healthcare or other socially important operations.
• Knowledge of ITIL, PM3 or equivalent governance models.
• Experience with civil preparedness, crisis preparedness or continuity planning.
• Previous experience as an Interim Manager.
• Experience leading organizational change, restructuring or transformation initiatives.

This is a senior leadership assignment for an experienced IT manager who can take responsibility for people, operations, service delivery and continuous development in a complex technical environment.
