The Opportunity

Power Transformers is a business unit within Hitachi Energy that manufactures power transformers and reactors up to the highest possible power and voltage levels. The unit in Ludvika has unique global expertise in ultra-high voltage technology and is an important hub for the development of new transformer technology. Power Transformers is currently in a strong growth phase and we are therefore looking for a quality engineer for our quality department. In this role, you will have a central position in the organization and be an important part of the development of both our production and our processes.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Drive quality and process improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards for products and manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal procedures.
  • Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive measures to eliminate quality problems and prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor production quality performance, analyze quality data, and identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce deviations.
  • Analyze Failure Costs (COPQ) and drive initiatives that improve quality performance and optimize costs.
  • Initiate and lead quality improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
  • Conducting system, process and product audits, ensuring compliance and readiness for certification requirements.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 quality management system.
  • Support supplier qualification, evaluation and development activities to ensure consistent quality standards throughout the supply chain.
  • Educate employees on quality tools and practices while promoting quality awareness throughout the organization.

Your background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in quality engineering or quality management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of quality tools, quality systems and methods for root cause analysis.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methods (Green belt, appropriate level)
  • Experience in conducting audits and working with ISO standards
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, including Power BI.
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English both in speech and writing
