Senior Exterior & Interior Lighting Engineer, Göteborg

You will join a design-driven automotive environment where lighting is a key part of both brand expression and product performance. In this role, you act as the link between design and engineering, helping turn creative intent into feasible, competitive lighting solutions for both exterior and interior applications. You will work close to concept development, legislation, manufacturing possibilities and validation needs, while supporting decisions in technically challenging areas. • You represent the voice of design within engineering and help communicate design intent clearly across functions.
• You translate engineering requirements into design possibilities and bring technical solutions that support the intended design direction.
• You transfer and explain engineering and key legislative requirements to design teams.
• You generate feasible solutions for technically challenging areas in exterior and interior lighting.
• You manage and document agreements between design and engineering throughout development.
• You document the feasibility of design themes and raise critical issues at the right time.
• You set up new light concepts in Catia and optical software.
• You benchmark competitors to secure strong and competitive lighting solutions.
• You scout new technologies and arrange presentations and workshops with innovation companies and suppliers in the lighting field.
• You stay updated on manufacturing methods, tooling considerations and relevant technologies.
• You support the development of physical lamp prototypes to assess lighting concepts.

• You have very deep knowledge of lamp technology, engineering and legal requirements.
• You have solid experience in automotive product concept and component design for both exterior and interior lighting.
• You have a complete understanding of the vehicle development process.
• You have very good experience with Catia and Teamcenter.
• You have a Technical university or equivalent, +10 yrs working experience in automotive industry is required.
• You have extensive automotive lamp concept engineering experience and an appreciation for aesthetic challenges.
• You understand engineering and validation processes for vehicle components and systems.
• You have working knowledge of component manufacturing, tooling requirements and lead times.
• You are confident working independently and in cross-functional teams, and you can take a leading role when needed.
• You are highly effective, productive and communicate well with different stakeholders.
• You are able to travel occasionally as part of the role.
• Fluency in English is required.

• Experience with optical software such as SPEOS, Lucidshape or Light tools.
• Experience working in a design studio.
• Mandarin.
