Mälardalen International School Västerås (MISV) and Centuriaskolan are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and versatile teacher for a combined full-time position in Music, Art and PSPE.

About MISV

MISV is a student-centred international school committed to developing caring, knowledgeable, and independent individuals through high-quality International Baccalaureate (IB) education in a challenging, diverse, and supportive environment.

MISV offers both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). Established in January 2022, the school was created to meet the needs of the growing international community in Västerås.

About the role at MISV (75%)

At MISV, you will teach Music, Art and PSPE within the PYP, with English as the language of instruction.

We are looking for a teacher who enjoys working creatively across subjects and who can inspire students through music, art, movement, and creative expression. You will be part of our international teaching team and work within the IB framework, where inquiry, student agency, international-mindedness, and meaningful learning are central.

Om tjänsten på Centuriaskolan (25%)

På Centuriaskolan kommer du att undervisa i musik i årskurs 7–9. Undervisningen sker på svenska och utgår från den svenska läroplanen.

Du ansvarar för att planera, genomföra och följa upp undervisningen samt bedöma elevernas kunskapsutveckling utifrån kursplanen i musik. Vi söker dig som kan skapa en undervisning där eleverna får möjlighet att utvecklas både praktiskt och teoretiskt och där kreativitet kombineras med tydliga mål, struktur och höga förväntningar.

Eftersom MISV och Centuriaskolan finns i samma lokaler blir du en del av ett nära kollegialt sammanhang samtidigt som du får möjlighet att arbeta inom två olika utbildningssystem.

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Is a certified teacher with a relevant academic and educational background.
• Has qualifications and/or experience in Music and preferably also Art and Physical Education.
• Is able to teach confidently and professionally in both English and Swedish.
• Has experience teaching relevant age groups, including secondary school students.
• Has experience with the IB PYP or a strong interest in developing professionally within the IB framework.
• Plans and delivers engaging and purposeful lessons that encourage creativity, inquiry, curiosity, participation, and student agency.
• Uses varied and inclusive teaching approaches to support students with different strengths and needs.
• Combines strong relationships with clear structure, high expectations, and rigorous teaching.
• Embraces research-informed teaching and is committed to continuous professional development.
• Creates a positive and safe learning environment that promotes students' confidence, independence, creativity, and self-efficacy.
• Works collaboratively and contributes actively to the pedagogical development of both schools.
• Builds positive relationships with students and maintains professional and open communication with parents and guardians.
• Uses technology effectively and meaningfully in teaching and learning.
