About the Role

As a Restaurant Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring smooth daily restaurant operations while delivering an excellent guest experience.

You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager and other team members to maintain Omami's standards for food quality, cleanliness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Restaurant Operations

• Support daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, order handling, and food service.
• Ensure food is prepared and served according to Omami's recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Maintain efficient workflows to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Support stock replenishment, inventory checks, and proper food storage.

2. Guest Service & Communication

• Welcome guests with a friendly, professional, and positive attitude.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Explain Omami's Asian Street Food concept, menu items, and available options to guests.
• Handle guest questions, feedback, and concerns professionally.
• Contribute to a positive and memorable dining experience.

3. Food Safety, Hygiene & Cleanliness

• Follow established food safety and hygiene procedures, including HACCP principles.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, dining areas, and service counters.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and temperature-control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable Swedish food safety regulations.

4. Teamwork & Operational Efficiency

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily operational targets.
• Support team members during busy service periods.
• Follow instructions from the Restaurant Manager and shift leaders.
• Participate in team training and continuous improvement activities.
• Help create a respectful, supportive, and positive working environment.

5. Order Handling & Digital Systems

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
• Process customer payments and follow order handling procedures.
• Handle orders received through delivery platforms and digital ordering systems.
• Use internal communication and scheduling applications as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in a restaurant, café, fast-casual dining, or hospitality environment is an advantage.
• A genuine interest in food, hospitality, and customer service.
• Good communication skills in English; Swedish language skills are an advantage.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong teamwork skills, reliability, and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and follow company procedures.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety is desirable.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays according to the restaurant schedule.

Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory. We will provide training to suitable candidates.
